Antibiotics & Regenetics

Hello all, myself and my daughters have just got to the articulation stage. My youngest daughter has quite severe exzema and now impitigo. Her throat gland recently swelled quite a lot so she needed antibiotics. How do these kinds of medicines impact the potentiation, if at all? Thanks for your thoughts Sarah

  • Yes, finding the balance can be tough especially since it's very time consuming to prepare everything from scratch. We mostly follow a Weston Price diet and have found the bone broths and healthy fats to be the most nourishing aspects and are pretty easy to incorporate. Liver is super nutritious too, but some people don't like it. We eat it in the form of pate on sourdough bread which tastes wonderful. I think for children snacks are the hardest. But not being overly stressed about food is really important for feeling nourished too.

I also wanted to mention that it only takes about 30 days for the gut to heal itself if irritants are avoided during that time, typically grains. It may be worth trying for a month and seeing if it makes a difference.

  • Thanks Leigh, very useful info, I've ordered the probiotics. I do tend to follow a Weston price diet and use to be really strict with diet but found it became counter productive as they both felt deprived. I struggle with getting a balance with it all as I do tend to swing between extremes, a bit all or nothing. The strange thing is my eldest daughter and my health improved with a more relaxed approach which I can only put down to less stress around food. It's something I struggle with
  • Hi Sarah,

In my research into probiotics I discovered that if an amine sensitivity is suspected, then the type of probiotics that are used is very important because there is usually leaky gut going on (which is very connected to eczema) and many strains of beneficial bacteria could cause reactivity while the gut is compromised. While clients often report that Regenetics improves the gut over time, there are other things you can do to help your daughter be more comfortable and possibly heal faster. Gelatin is an amazing gut healer. Bone broths are the best sources. Grass-fed marrow bones, pastured chicken and even fish. You can find numerous tutorials online for making bone broth. Sol's link above is an excellent resource. You can also buy grass-fed gelatin and make homemade jello without all the sugar and artificial ingredients. The probiotic that is specific for amine intolerance is weighted on the bifido spectrum of beneficial organisms, such as Seeking Health ProBiota 12. I think probiotics are definitely important after taking antibiotics, but finding the right one is key.

    Blessings,

    Leigh

  • Thanks Sol I have researched in the past and she has always reacted badly to probiotics I now think it may be due to high amines but I shall take a look at the above info and trust the process will continue to support her.
    Thanks
  • Antibiotics, which are sometimes necessary in extreme cases, unfortunately, very negatively impact the gut flora and microbiome which regulate the immune system, inflammatory responses, and much else.

It appears that Potentiation and the Regenetics Method tend to promote a healthier microbiome overall, but there are many things one can do in daily life to assist and fortify this area, especially in light of antibiotics use.
