Mold and Mycotoxins

Is anyone on here familiar with or been diagnosed with CIRS, also known as mold illness. I'm in the transcension phase and have recently learned I have a gene that makes my body hold onto mycotoxins which wreaks havoc in the body. On the bright side I've finally learned whats been causing my mysterious symptoms all these years. On there other hand the lifestyle changes are a bit overwhelming!

  • My pleasure, Brandy.

I hope you get your living situation squared away soon!

Hang in there and engage as much feel-good and rewarding thought and activity as possible in order to encourage positive shifts on the epigenetic level ...

  • Thanks Sol, we do have restore, along with some other amazing supplements. The challenge has been finding a mold free place to stay. We have a yurt arriving at the end of next month. But I think I may need to move into a tent until then as Pretty much every house in our area has mold!
And hank you for challenging any genetic diagnosis. It helps to put things in perspective and I've definitely been pondering this whole thing in regards to regenetics.
  • To be perfectly honest, I would be cautious about accepting a "gene diagnosis" as the root cause of virtually anything. Genes are always being switched on and off epigenetically, meaning the situation is fluid and changeable.

The whole MTHFR craze is a good example of a "diagnosis" that simply doesn't help a lot of people as witnessed by the widely divergent "treatments" for this "condition."

It's equally possible, in the context of Regenetics, that your immune system is purging mold and mycotoxins, creating symptoms as they're mobilized. This may not by the case with you, but we've seen this dynamic many, many times.

As for lifestyle changes, certainly avoiding mold and eating foods that don't promote this kind of overgrowth is probably a good idea. But just as importantly would be working on your microbiome.

A very interesting approach to fortifying the gut, one I only recently ran across, has been proposed by Dr. Zach Bush, creator of Restore. You can read about Dr. Bush's work in DNA MONTHLY here ...
